Beyond the Classroom Services
Beyond the Classroom
represents a group of educational
professionals offering one on one tutoring
for students from JK to Grade 12.
Tutoring takes place in the student's
home so students feel comfortable and
parents can interact with the tutor. We
encourage all young people to feel confident
and capable with their academic work.
Our rates are very competitive and our
service is exceptional. We are dedicated to
helping your child reach their academic
goals.
The Assessment
At Beyond the Classroom we believe that
parents know their child best. The tutor
will have a consultation with the parents at
the first session about the needs of the
child and goals for the tutoring program.
The tutor will often ask to see recent
report cards, notes from teachers and tests
to get a sense of the level your child is
at. We do not charge an assessment fee.
The Curriculum
We offer tutoring in all core subject areas.
The tutors work one on one with your child,
focusing on their homework and studying for
tests/exams. The tutors follow the
curriculum outlined by the Ontario Ministry
of Education and focus on the current
in-school homework and assignments.
Study Skills Program
We also offer tutoring to enhance students’
study skills to help them achieve their
academic goals. Study skills are an
important foundation to learning through
your child’s school years.
Junior and Senior Kindergarten Programs
Reading Readiness:
We receive numerous calls from parents who
would like their child to learn how to
identify letters of the alphabet, learn
sounds and site words. At Beyond the
Classroom, we can bring along materials to
the tutoring sessions to help your child
work through these skills in a fun and
interactive way.
Math Concepts:
As early as Junior Kindergarten math
concepts are being introduced in the
classroom. These include sorting, patterns
and number identification. These are basic
skills children need to have before Grade 1
and our tutors can work with your child to
ensure they have mastered them.
General Subject Areas
We pride ourselves on the
wide variety of grades and subjects we have
available for tutoring services.
Mathematics
We offer tutoring from Grades 1 to 8 in
general Mathematics. We also offer tutoring
at both the Applied and Academic levels from
Grades 9 to 11. Our tutors will also tutor
Calculus, Data Management and Discreet Math
at the Grade 12 level.
Language Arts & English
We provide tutoring from Grades 1 to 8 in
Language Arts. We can specifically help with
reading comprehension and spelling, two key
areas for early learners. We also offer help
with English at both the Applied and
Academic levels from Grades 9 to 12. Essay
development is also an important skill for
students to understand and practice, we can
help them to apply this during the tutoring
sessions.
Science
We offer tutoring from Grades 1 to 8 in
general Science. We also offer tutoring in
Grade 9 & 10 for both Applied and Academic
Science. Our tutors will also tutor Grade 11
& 12 Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
